A special Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) is scheduled to take place at Natu La (Nathula Pass) on 26 January 2026, prompting authorities to restrict movement of tourists and civil traffic towards the pass on that day.
The notice, issued by Lieutenant Colonel Snehasish Sahu, General Staff Officer Grade-1 (Intelligence), instructs officials including the Additional Chief Secretary of the Tourism & Civil Aviation Department, Sikkim, and the Police Inspector of the 3rd Mile Check Post in Gangtok, to halt tourist and vehicle access to Nathula during the meeting.
The directive states:
1. A special BPM will be held at Natu La on 26 January 2026.
2. Tourist and civil traffic movement toward Nathula will not be allowed that day, and similar restrictions should be enforced by concerned authorities.
3. Officials are asked to take necessary action based on this information.
